Physiotherapy for babies
BABY Care
First check up
I will assess your baby’s motor and sensory neurodevelopment from 0 to 3 years of age, as well as resolving the difficulties that occur during this stage.
I always advise to have a baby assessment at an early age because some conditions are hard to spot for an untrained eye. There might be signs that your child has some developmental or orthopaedic conditions.
Physiotherapy for babies
Your baby is unique, and so is their development!
Paediatric development check
A thorough physical, orthopaedic and neurological examination will be done. We screen from head to toe to verify the integrity of the child's muscles and bones and identify asymmetries and signs of motor development issues. This will help us determine if they need treatment or just reassurance and some advice for the home.
Orthopaedic conditions
Physiotherapy can help with flat head or plagiocephaly, torticollis, walking in or out-toeing, toe walking, and hip dysplasia.
Motor development problems
It can help with a delay at reaching gross motor milestones such as sitting, rolling, crawling, and walking. Or with a low tone or stiff baby.
Respiratory issues
Physiotherapy can help to loosen and mobilise the mucus and facilitate coughing it up. There are many safe and effective techniques to clear the airways. You will get plenty of information on adequately clearing your baby's nose.
Digestive conditions
It can also help to reduce the discomfort caused by colic, reflux, constipation and suckling or swallowing difficulties.
